Marché Mon Pitou is a French cafe, bistro and market where you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee, freshly baked bread and pastries and a playful croque madame with a dreamy béchamel sauce.
Located at 1387 W 7th Ave, it is at a walkable distance to Granville Island and they carry French imported produce and products.
Eggs Royale ($18)

The Eggs Royale was beautifully plated and heavenly French style toast and eggs. You get a good thickness of smoked salmon with creamy and soft scrabbled eggs. The arugula salad was well dressed and didn’t add additional heaviness to the overall dish. The french bread had a nice crunch and didn’t become soggy even if you eat it last.
Croque Madame ($20)

Croque Madame is a french grilled cheese, with béchamel sauce poured over the top a perfectly poached egg! I like it much better than the Croque Monsieur, since who wouldn’t want a perfectly poached egg at breakfast?
I was impressed the dish overall wasn’t too salty, even with 2 slices of smoked ham and gruyere. However, it is on the heavier side, so I recommend sharing this dish!
Coffee

I came here to try their coffee but ended up staying for the food. The flat white and latte didn’t impress myself or my friend. I felt it lacked a bit of aroma and you only taste the milk. I will stick to an espresso to truly taste the coffee better.

Marché Mon Pitou French Imported Products

Marché Mon Pitou also offers French imported goods and if you are looking for small and edible gifts, this is the place. Their products all scream picnic worthy! They even have flowers for you to buy and bring on your next instagram worthy picnic or picturesque meal.
Overal Thoughts
I will definitely return to try other breakfast and brunch dishes and pastries. Even with the new COVID-19 restaurant restrictions, I see a resilient team that is working hard to provide an elegant atmosphere to represent the Marché Mon Pitou brand.
Seating Arrangement
Three tables have patio covers and two smaller tables are located closer to the road on a smaller patch of grass. Even with a long line by the store, many people are picking up pastries and baked goods to go. So don’t be afraid to wait in line and ask for a table if you wish to enjoy their brunch items.
